For photographer Mohamed Hassan, landscape is not simply a subject to be documented, but a place to return to. Originally from Alexandria, Egypt, and now based in Pembrokeshire, his experience of Wales has been shaped by years of walking its coastlines, mountains and valleys, allowing familiarity to replace first impressions. Across his wider photographic practice, Hassan is interested in themes of place, identity and belonging; in Quiet Observations, those ideas are explored through the landscape itself.

Location: Upstairs in the Gallery at Oriel Colwyn
Join us at midday on Saturday 15th August for a special Talk Photo with Mohamed which is then followed by the opening of his new exhibition Quiet Observations: The Landscapes of Wales.
The following day we are pleased to announce that Mohamed will be holding a practical landscape and sequencing workshop here at Oriel Colwyn.
This Sunday workshop has limited places available and more info/tickets can be found HERE
TALK PHOTO is a regular evening social event in Oriel Colwyn’s gallery space, where invited speakers are here IN PERSON to share presentations and insights about their work or projects, with a friendly intimate audience.
Audience tickets are issued on a first come, first served basis.
If you are in a position to contribute towards the talks then please choose a donation option – this will directly help Oriel Colwyn and the continuation of these events going forward.

Due to space limitations, we will be capping the audience to 30 people and are happy to offer a FREE option to remove any financial barriers to attend.
