Aneesa Dawoojee is multi award winning portrait and social documentary photographer from South London. Her images aim to break stereotypes, celebrate the essence of community and initiate open dialog and mediation through portraiture.  

A Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, and winner of the Power of Photography Award by AP Magazine. Aneesa also works within the field of broadcasting and Sport, she has won the RPS Solo International Exhibition Award and has been featured in The Guardian, Forbes Woman Africa, BBC. She has been recognised in the British Journal of Photography's Portrait of Humanity series for three consecutive years.

Aneesa's approach to visual communication has culminated in the touring exhibition "Only Human," recently displayed at the Royal Albert Hall in June 2024. Her latest work opens at the Saatchi Gallery on the 4th November 2024 until 5th January 2025.

The Fighting Spirit of South London

A celebration of a rich culture within the area of South London where Aneesa grew up in. Photography that aims to capture the honesty and dignity of each individual. 40 portraits, 40 stories.

A diverse London based community bonded by strength, hardships and determination. With an underlying theme of life's struggle and overcoming it. The journey of real Londoners bonded by a sport that sees no colour. Compassionate visual stories that offer love and hope.

Aneesa is known for her exploration of community, resilience, hope, and social discourse, through her work with youth charities, schools, colleges and universities, she hopes to encourage and support young people of all backgrounds to follow their creative paths.
